Knowing More About Full-Spectrum CBD And Isolates

CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of the many compounds called cannabinoids, found in the cannabis plant. Unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive, which means it wouldn’t cause the high that people expect with cannabis. Most CBD products are derived from hemp, which is the least processed version of cannabis. CBD products can be purchased legally in most states in the US, from websites such as Saving Grace CBD, as long as the THC content is less than 0.3%. As a new CBD user, you may find terms like full-spectrum and isolates quite confusing. In this post, we are discussing the basics of both.

What is full-spectrum CBD?

True to the name, full-spectrum CBD contains other cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found in hemp (or cannabis), which together product the famed “entourage effect”. Specific cannabinoids have specific benefits. For instance, Cannabigerol (CBG) is known to help with inflammation and pain, while Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV) is believed to have some benefits for those with obesity and diabetes.

In context of full-spectrum CBD, you may also come across products that have been labeled as broad-spectrum CBD, which basically contains all the cannabinoids as in full-spectrum CBD, but doesn’t have any traces of THC.

What is CBD Isolate?

Isolates contain nothing else but only CBD. All cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids are removed through additional processing. Many people prefer CBD isolates, while others have an inclination towards full-spectrum CBD andbroad-spectrum CBD.

How much of CBD should you take?

That depends on the type of CBD product you are using and also the product itself. If you want to be really specific with your doses, capsules, gummies, pills, and tinctures are your best bet. As for the dosage, if you are using CBD for general wellbeing, 5 mg twice a day is what most people will benefit from, for at least a week. You can keep increasing the CBD dosage in the following weeks, depending on your needs. For insomnia, pain and inflammation, a dosage of 20 – 35 mg per day is common, but again, it depends on how your body reacts to CBD. It is always better to start slow with CBD and decide on what may work best for your personal needs.
